New Sky Documentary Edited Remotely on the Isle of Wight

New Sky Documentary Edited Remotely on the Isle of Wight 11 Jan 2021

A major new Sky Drama/Documentary called ‘How I Caught the Killer – A Picture Perfect Family/Little Boy Lost’ is set to air on TV this week.

In 2002, Christian Michael Longo was sentenced to death in an Oregon courtroom for the callous murder of his wife, Mary Jane and three young children.

This hour long documentary tells the story of how the combined efforts of Oregon Police and the FBI tracked Longo to Mexico where he was apprehended and returned to the US through exclusive, in depth interviews with the law enforcement officers who were there.

While it was shot on location in the US, the film was entirely edited, musically arranged and colour graded and ‘on-lined’ (graphics, captions, titles etc.) at Alex Lewington’s home on the Isle of Wight.  Client delivery to and from was made via the Isle of Wight’s new Broadband Fibre network, Wightfibre.

Alex says the workflow was very straight forward. ” I received the rushes on a flash drive in the post and cut the programme together on Adobe Premiere Pro.  Titles, captions and graphical elements were also created on my computer using Adobe After Effects.

The final colour grading was completed using a combination of Premiere Lumetri Colour Corrector and Red Giant Magic Bullet, while delivery of the final broadcast files was completed using Adobe Media Encoder.”

This programme is one of the second series of How I Caught the Killer commissioned by Sky Crime and produced by Woodcut Media and can be seen on 9pm, Thursday 14th January 2021 on the Sky Crime channel.
